Military Family Can't Live in Prince George's County

We’re a military family who moved back to Maryland in 2019, searching for a home where we could raise our kids. We needed to be within a reasonable commute to both the Pentagon and Fort Meade. But despite Prince George’s County being a convenient option, we didn’t even consider it—because we had a pitbull.

Instead, we bought a home in Anne Arundel County. Since then, we’ve continued to foster and adopt pitbulls from the PG County Animal Shelter—something only possible because we don’t live in the county. We love this breed and will always be a pitbull family.

We will not support any county or business that enforces or endorses breed-specific legislation. PG County’s breed ban is not only unfair—it’s hurting families, it’s hurting good dogs, and it’s putting pressure on neighboring counties and shelters across the DMV. It’s time for PG County to lift the ban.
