Jack and Thor came off the urgent list at PG County Animal Shelter about 6 months apart. Jack, a 6 month old bull terrier mix and Thor, a 1 year old husky, pitbull mix. Each were going to be euthanized because the shelter is overcrowded and terrier mixes aren’t allowed to be adopted within PG County. Jack lived with me as a foster for 3 months and Thor for 4 days. In both periods of time, these sweet boys thrived outside of the shelter. Both got along great with my dog and cat as well as all of my neighbors and friends they met. Both have both been neutered, have received preventative care, and have both been adopted by loving families. Both would have been killed by this legislation if not for the tireless efforts of rescues working against it.
